Make your printing shine

Foil stamping gives your Foil Business Cards a custom look and is versatile. A foil stamped business card adds class and sass to any occasion.

Foil can be a great way to boost your business. Research shows that people perceive foil as a product with more value and quality.

Foil printing cards, also known as hot foil stamping or heat stamping, involves applying metallic or pigment foil to paper by using heated dies. The stamping machine applies foil to the surface using high pressure and leaves the design on the paper. Many business cards featuring foil text or graphics (such as logos) often have foil text. With its unique and eye-catching impressness, your foil business card will make you stand out in a competitive market.

You can combine foil with embossing to create a 3-D foil image. To see an example of a foil stamping machine in action, check out the video below. You can also see additional visual samples on our page about custom printing effects.

  • Gloss Pigment Foil is a glossy, non-metallic finish that comes in a variety of colors.
  • Matte Pigment Foil comes in deep solid colors and has a dull, not-shiny look.
  • Special Effect Foils like leathers, marbles pearls or woodgrains can add texture and beauty to your designs.
  • Holographic Foil is a surface that uses holograms. It creates dramatic effects of “high technology”.

What materials can be foil-stamped?

Foil can also be used on synthetic paper, magnet paper and plastic paper. The smooth-surfaced dull/matte or lustre uncoated cover stock is ideal for foil stamping and other business card looks. Because of the paper’s rough texture, linen and other textured papers should not be used for foil.

Designing foil stamped business cards

Foil stamping is a great way to make a business card stand out. The best results are possible with foil stamping

It is important to have a strong contrast between your card’s background and foil stamping. Foil stamping is opaque so you can use a lighter foil over a darker background, or vice versa.

Use at least 8pt in a professional font that is easy to see at a glance.

The business cards are printed on large sheets that can then be cut into individual cards. For any minor cutting variations, we recommend that your design include a “bleed” of 3mm around the edges. You should not place any text on the edges. Also, avoid bordering that might be off-center during cutting.

Use Your Cards

The tangible quality of a business card can be replaced by email and cell phones. You should keep your focus on the conversation when you hand out business cards to networking events.

Simplicity is key to a great business card. You should only include the essential information that is required to get in touch with your company or learn more details about it. There should be plenty of blank space.

Your business cards will help you present a professional image. This is especially important if you are an entrepreneur or working alone. Foil stamping creates a professional look for cards, and sends a message to people that your business values quality and success.
